Our team includes members from all around the world as well as from some of the world's best academic institutions and universities. We are always welcoming new members to our GDI family. If interested make sure to reach out to us!

What we do

  • We undertake extensive research and create impactful content that provides scientific information in a simplified way with minimal use of medical terms.

    • We aim to provide this information in a manner that anyone with any level of background knowledge can understand.

    • Most importantly, we provide our content in multiple languages, which allows us to connect with people from around the world and invite them to join the conversation.

  • We share the stories of brave warriors through interviews and collaborations.

  • We organize volunteering events for organizations that focus on supporting patients.

  • We hold fundraising events to raise money for individuals dealing with genetic disorders.

  • We collaborate with organizations and help in gathering resources and volunteers.

  • Most importantly, we aim to make a difference in the lives of the brave individuals who deal with genetic disorders and to spark a conversation about the challenges they face.

We have always been inspired by the continuous strength, resilience, and character of genetic disorder warriors around the world

Why we focus on genetic disorders

  • Genetic disorders include over 6000 diseases that affect people worldwide

  • Genes also play an important role in heart disease, mental health, blindness, etc.

  • Most are life-long and are usually managed rather than cured, which makes them particularly challenging

  • Genetic Disorders may sometimes run in families, which significantly increases their impact

Why raising awareness is important

  • We can play a small part in amplifying the voices of patients, learning about the challenges they face, and supporting them

  • Some genetic disorders don’t show symptoms until later in life; sometimes 30 to 70 years later. Increased awareness supports early and effective diagnosis that can improve the patient’s quality of life as they receive the required treatment and care

  • Raising awareness can increase the rate of carrier screenings, which allow individuals to find out if they carry a gene for a genetic disorder, as well as learn the chances of having a child with a genetic disorder
